D.O.A.

Its over for the Yankees. It was a valiant effort, I mean they lost Matsui, Posada and Wang for the season and have had a ton of other injuries which was too much to overcome. The good thing? Football starts in a few weeks.

I guess this makes it official for you.
Hey, even Steinbrenner has given up.

As for me, I wont accept until they are completely out of the race, I need to see that they are officially dead.

I think the Wang injury was the back breaker for your Yankees, Matsui is done and so is Posada.

Wang was definetly the back breaker but you can not discount what Posada and Matsui bring to the table. True, they're not what they use to be but having those 2 guys, healthy and playing every day makes the Yankees better. Like you I won't truly believe that the Yanks are dead until they are mathematically eliminated but I just dont see it happening this year but I have been wrong before.

Yes Wang was the beginning of what looks to be the end for the Yanks.

Posada and Matsui are good players the Yankees also missed, but Matsui is done, and Posada I think is done with putting up full seasons. Plus no longer will he be the catcher he was, so unless he gets his arm back next year, you will be seeing alot of DH with Posada.
