Bad Weekend

I don't even know where to begin with the Yankees. All season long I've been trying to convince myself that this team is better than what they've shown on the field even though deep down I know better and I know that this is not a playoff team. It's hard to admit it but this Yankee team is just not that good. They're too old, too many injuries and are just way too inconsistent to really contend for a playoff spot. Maybe, and I really hope this happens, this will be the true wake up call for the Yankees and they won't go down the same road they've been going down the last 7 years and I think they've already started with trying to build the team from within and making smart signings and trades. If it means sacrificing this season for it then I'm all for it. I guess time will tell.

I was out and about this weekend and didn’t have the time to see much of the games except for bits and pieces. I did see that 8 run inning on Saturday and that was pretty much I needed to see.
8 and half games out now as time is running out on the Yankees consecutive playoff streak.
I will believe it when I see it.

As for the Mets, they had the chance to sweep the Marlins but could not finish the job.
Mike Pelfrey got hit hard by the Marlins who pretty much own him. Mike Pelfrey last 3 loses has been to the Marlins.
Mets are hanging in 2 games back.
