The Response

Oh man, where do I start? Ok, first of all the Mets are gay. Now that we got that out of the way we can proceed. Let's start with the Mets, yes they went out and got the best closer available when they got KRod and then pulled off a good move with the trade for Putz. I do have some questions about these moves, KRod is coming off an all-time year and the Angels just let him walk away? For nothing? Then sign Fuentes for 9 mil per? I don't know but that tells me that the Angels must have a lot of concern about the health of KRod's arm. Like you said, if you think teams hate the Mets now, what will it be like when KRod and company totally over-celebrate a win in April? Which brings me to Putz. The guy is a solid pitcher when he's healthy. It'll be interesting to see if he can stay off the DL this season. Onto your next point of Omar Minaya. Is he a good GM? Yes, he is. Is he Executive of the Year material? Nowhere close. He came to the Mets in 2005 and in the 4 seasons he's been at the helm, the Mets made the playoffs once and have had back to back historical collapses. So let's hold off all the accolades until the Mets actually win something.
Onto the Yankees. Yes, the Yankees are spending money but people always fail to mention that the payroll this season is going to be lower than last season. The Yankees are in a tough spot because they're basically damned if they do and damned if they dont. They go out and get the best players available and the Yankees are the "Evil Empire", they stand pat and try and go with the youngsters then they get killed by the fans and the media because they didn't do enough. I love how all these other teams love trashing the Yankees but deep down they love it because they know when the Yankees come to town, they put asses in the seats and people in front of the TVs. I really believe thats it really boils down to jealousy because the Yankees go out and do whatever it takes to try and put a winning team on the field as opposed to a lot of teams who just try and pocket all the money they can. Will C.C., Burnett and Tex all work out? Probably not, you just hope to get enough out of them to get you back to the playoffs for the next few years and maybe win a title. I like knowing that my team goes the distance in trying to put a winner out there, which is a lot more than most teams can say. I'm just hoping for a good year out of the Bronx Bombers. Oh, did I mention that the Mets are gay?

OK so here I am again ready to fire back at you with some more concrete stuff instead of your verbal bashing. I made my point on both the Yankees and the Mets with the way the off season has gone so far.

1st with the Mets, like I said, the Mets moves this off season have been getting players that are needed to help improve the team, and getting rid off players that the team needed to get off the team. Those are the move Omar has made so far.

1- the Mets needed to get bullpen help and Omar gets 2 closers at the cheaps .

2- at the same time, Omar also got rid off Heilman and Schoewenweiss and got in Putz in return. Hell even if Putz is not healthy this is still a good move.

I made it clear that the Angels let K-ROD walk, so who knows how healthy he is? But he is now a Met and even though I didn't like the idea of getting him when the season was over and people were talking about getting K-ROD, I didn't want him simply because he was going to ask for so much money and I didn't want to invest $100 million dollars on a closer, that is something that the Yankees would had done.
But because Omar was able to get
K-ROD on the cheaps, when you compare, then I was OK.
Plus when you look at what Fuentes was looking for in the market, then it made no sense for the Mets to save a couple of millions when you can have the best guy out there for the extra millions.

Now I never said that Omar is running for GM of the YEAR, or that he is the best guy out there, all I was saying is that I am happy with him running the team and that he has done a great job in his time here with the Mets. Simply he is better then your boy Cashman. So even though he is linked with the 2 collapses, I still give Omar the accolades I am giving him because the players are really the ones who failed to do their parts.

Now with the Yankees, yes they are the evil empire and yes they will always be the hated team everyone loves to hate, but how can you not hate the Yankees for their ways of operating.
Remember I use to be a Yankee fan, and even you have said that you were willing to part with them if some moves were to be made, so even you see what everyone sees.

Look your right about the Yankees
saving some money this season with all the contracts that were coming off the books this year, even with the crazy record breaking spending spree of this off season, but that is not the point here. The point here is that the Yankees continue to do things that no one else can do and that is why they get their hate from other teams and fans, or jealousy or what not.
The deal is this, $421 million dollars on 3 guys alone.

Is this the right way of doing things?

is this all worth it?

Even if the Yankees do win the WS next year will it feel good?

Again the Yankees have spent major money on the 3 biggest contracts this off season, and that is why all the criticism and hate is there.
